On your fire...bring to the boil in a pot or billy place half cup water with
3 leaves cinnamon myrtle,
1/2 teaspoon wattleseed,
2 leaves lemon mrytle,
2 leaves aniseed myrtle,
place half cup of milk of choice and slowly brew, remove from fire, add honey to sweeten and serve
Chai Carrot cake
1.5 cup grated carrot 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup spelt flour (or plain flour) 1 cup castor sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil 2 eggs
1 teaspn bicarbonate soda 1/2 teaspn salt
2 teaspn Hari Har Chai Sprinkle 1/2 tespn vanilla essence
Method: Combine eggs, sugar, oil, vanilla, Hari Haar Chai Sprinkle and sifted flour, bicarb soda, salt. Mix well together with a wooden spoon until smooth. Stir in Carrots and nuts. Mix well together.
Place in greased round (8' -10") cake tin. Bake in moderate oven (180c) for 45-50 mins.
Classic cream cheese icing - 1 tbspn butter and 60 gm cream cheese mixed together until soft. Add 1 cup icing sugar and i tbspn lemon juice. Blend well.
Place on cake when cool and lighly sprinkle top with coconut shreds and Hari Har Chai Sprinkle.
Serve with a fresh brewed cup of Hari Har Chai Original.
I add my Hari Har Chai Sprinkle to everything when i cook. I love adapting my mums favourite recipes that have been passed on to me, and adding that chai flavour into them. Apple crumble was always a favourite in our family growing up..Also great to add with the apples, berries, pears, mango....
Here is the recipe for the crumble topping for your favourite fruit. You can also add a bit of spice to the fruit when cooking it.
Crumble Topping: 2 tbspn Wholemeal self raising flour (or wholemeal spelt flour)
2 tbspn raw sugar (or coconut sugar or rapadura sugar)
2 tbspn wheat germ (or substitute)
2 tbspn coconut shreads thin
Optional 2 tbspn crushed nuts
2 teaspn Hari Har Chai sprinkle
Mix together and add 60 gm melted butter, mix well until butter is evenly mixed in. Place on fruit that is in a pie tin or dish. Cook for 30 mins in moderate (180c) oven.
Serve with coconut yoghurt or fresh cream whipped with Hari Har Chai sprinkle.
Chai Banana Icecream
Preparation: Take 10 bananas, peel and slice into small round pieces. Place in freezer for 24hrs
Take out frozen banana place in a food processor or blender add
200ml Hari Har Chai concentrate
one teaspoon Hari Har Chai sprinkle
one tablespoon of Honey
mix well until becomes a smooth paste, icecream. Re freeze for short while.
Yumm - dairy free, sugar free, delicous desert
100 ml Hari Har Chai concentrate
200ml milk of your choice
one table spoon plain yoghurt, or coconut yoghurt
one scoop of vanilla icecream or coconut icecream or chai banana icecream (see recipe below)
one banana (or vaiety add strawberries, mango)
sprinkle of Hari Har Chai chai sprinkle
Place in blender, whizz, sprinkle with love and chai sprinkle and serve
